Embracing the Journey - Finding Passion, Purpose, and Community

Writer: My Mate MarvMy Mate Marv

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share an update following my recent post about the pivotal transition in my career and life. As many of you know, I've been navigating away from full-time employment, striving to find something that truly resonates with my passions, values, and mission. This journey hasn't been easy, and posting about it was a significant step for me. I was fortunate to have the support of two incredible coaches, along with the support and guidance of my friends and family, to help me overcome my anxiety and self-doubt.

Day 20:

Other People will see you the way they intend to. In the same way you have put the people that you admire on pedestals and glossed over all the unseemly aspects of another human being you were hellbent on trying to love, in the same way that the souls closest to you seem the most beautiful and most easily forgivable; in the same way that you most understand the prospective of the people whose journeys you have witnessed from the beginning, whose shoes you can imagine yourself in; other people see you in the way they need to and intend to. What matters, in the end, is the way you intend to see yourself.

Overcoming Fear and Anxiety

The decision to publicly share my thoughts and feelings brought up a whirlwind of emotions. I worried about appearing egotistical or self-important, questioning my authority or credibility. Why should anyone care about what I have to say? I also feared the possibility of public failure, committing to something and not succeeding. These doubts were and continue to be persistent, yet I did not and will not let them define me. With the encouragement and support from my loved ones, I took the leap and shared my story.

The Power of Community and Support

The response was overwhelming and heart-warming. I felt an immense sense of relief and gratitude as words of encouragement poured in. What amazed me even more was the genuine interest and support people showed. Many reached out to discuss my plans and thoughts, offering insights, ideas, and even potential opportunities.

This support network has been invaluable. It's led to the identification of potential freelancing opportunities and highlighted genuine challenges that I am uniquely positioned to help with. The energy and interest from people who share similar challenges and are open to exploring solutions together have been incredibly motivating.

Fuelled by Energy and Opportunities

The past week has been a whirlwind of activity. I've been busy with feasibility studies, business modelling, and meetings to develop and refine ideas. The excitement of working on projects that align with my passions and being surrounded by like-minded individuals has been invigorating. It feels like I'm back in my element, fuelled by the collaborative energy and shared challenges.

Right now, I'm looking ahead from a beautiful workspace in Elfwoods (currently my favourite place to work) ... the people that come through and the connections I've been making are beyond inspiring. There is so much important work to be done and, I'm doing my best to stay at the heart of it all.

Looking Ahead

The week ahead promises to be equally busy and exciting. I'll be diving deeper into business modelling, attending more meetings, and continuing to explore and develop new ideas and solutions. This journey is still in its early stages, but the momentum is building, and I'm eager to see where it leads.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement. It means the world to me and has been a driving force in this transition. I'll continue to share updates as I progress on this journey, and I look forward to connecting with more of you along the way.

Subscribe and stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for being a part of this exciting journey.

Finally, for those that did reach out, I wish you to know that it gave and continues to give me so much energy and drive. The power of community support and collaboration is so very self-evident for me and I am sure it will underpin my onward journey.

Warm regards,

Marv (your mate ;-)

Loving the updates and well done on pushing through you doubts and still posting. Remember that as much as you have a support network, you feed into that network and are supportive of others, so in other words, you are receiving back what you are giving out.
